Functions – Licensing Board<\/h3>\n

At present, the Chief Electrical Inspector is also the Chairman of the Nagaland Electrical Licensing Board constituted by the Govt. under erstwhile rule 45 of the Indian Electricity Rules, 1956 – now under regulation 31 of the Central Electricity Authority (Measures relating to Safety and Electric Supply) Regulations, 2023.<\/p>\n

The functions and administration of the Board are governed by the Nagaland Electrical Licensing Board Regulations, 2005:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. To grant licenses to Electrical Contractors,<\/li>\n
  2. To conduct examinations for issue of Certificates to Electrical Supervisors and Permits to Electrical Workmen, and<\/li>\n
  3. To hear and decide the cases of violations or malpractice by Electrical Contractors, Supervisors and Workmen.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
